I wanted to see what it would look like if one of these aliens sat for a portrait, how they’d smile in a way that’s recognizable (to us humans), and what clothes and jewelry they’d choose. Look at that little grin.
The clothes they wear are full coverage, with decorative cutouts and overlapping loose fabric. An everyday outfit for an everyday type of alien.
I wanted to explore the different styles of formal and ceremonial wear. I started with the figure on the right, and as I drew the figure on the left I tried to create a style that was similar yet very different. I like to imagine they’re using the orbs for communication or maybe comfort.
I was thinking about what their beds would look like, normal ungulates sleep mainly standing up, or their legs folded underneath but I wanted to imagine what surface would allow them to lay down flat on their backs. this bed is specifically a child’s bed, its shorter in shape and can be thought of like a training bed.
